"Rīgas satiksme" to appeal against decision of Procurement Monitoring Bureau

"Rīgas satiksme" has learnt the decision of the Procurement Monitoring Bureau about negotiations procedure "On delivery of services with increased level of service on routes of a part of Riga city route network", has evaluated it and is going to appeal against the decision. As it may be appealed against until February 20, 2012, "Rīgas satiksme" is preparing documents to submit to the bureau.iesniegšanai IUB.

It should be reminded that on February 16 the Procurement Monitoring Bureau banned "Rīgas satiksme" from concluding contracts with the winners of negotiations procedure "On delivery of services with increased level of service on routes of a part of Riga city route network", after an Estonian company, Riga Transport, lodged a complaint with the bureau raising objections against the negotiations procedure.

Given the delay in the negotiations procedure, temporary contracts were concluded with those companies having provided fixed-route taxi services so far. As is known, on January 1, 2012, after the expiry of contracts between the local government and private companies on carrying passengers by fixed-route taxis, Riga City Council’s decision took effect, under which "Rīgas satiksme" takes over these transportation services.
